Casalino dining chairs designed by Alexander Begge in 1977 for Casala; manufactured under licensing by Winton Plastics Australia. Alexander Begge – born 1941, designed only one line furniture: Casalino. Designed to resemble a wisp of fog, Alexander Begge’s vision is evident in the chair's soft, organic curves and stackable design. After being in production for only two years in Germany, Brazil, Japan and Australia; the original moulds were discarded and unfortunately could not be replaced. By twist of fate, in 2007 they were rediscovered in rural Turkey, and shipped back to the Netherlands. Since then, Casala, under leadership of Daan van der Winkel, has reproduced the chairs in Lauenau, Netherlands. These particular Casala chairs were produced in 1977 in Australia, and feature new upholstery in dark teal 100% wool..
