Strips sofa designed by Cini Boeri and Laura Griziotti for Arflex in 1972. Cini Boeri is considered one of the great pioneering women in Italian design and architecture, and in collaboration with well known architect Laura Griziotti the two created the Strips sofa - a quilted sofa made of interconnected squares intended to resemble a block or “strip” of chocolate. The Strips sofa is an icon of 1970s Italian design, and won prestigious Compasso D’Oro award in 1979. It is displayed in museums worldwide, including the Triennale di Milano, Tokyo Design Museum, and the Moma in New York. In 2022 the Strips sofa was re-released by Arflex to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of its inception. This extra-large four seater sofa and accompanying single seat features dense velvet upholstery and removable covers.
